Moooi’s Horse Lamp has always looked like it was waiting for permission to leave. This film gives it permission. On Halloween night, the horse walks out from under its own lampshade and into a topiary hedge maze borrowed from Alice in Wonderland, where Front’s Chess Table is waiting.
I set myself one rule: stay inside Moooi’s world instead of decorating it. Their objects are animals pretending to be furniture, so the story treats them as characters with appetites. Hedge height, light direction and the lamp’s proportions hold steady across every clip, so the fantasy stays believable.
The concept also extends into a pop-up: the maze as a walk-through installation, with the empty lampshade as the first thing guests meet.
