Shadow Garden: independent Halloween film concept for Diptyque (not commissioned)
A study of fragrance made visible through shadow. In a quiet, uncanny room inspired by Leonora Carrington’s interiors, a Diptyque Roses candle burns beside a bare rose stem. Its ordinary shadow gradually takes on a life of its own, growing branches, leaves, and three closed rosebuds across the celadon wall.
I developed the concept and visual direction, building the sequence around the contrast between the candle’s warm glow and the room’s cool, restrained palette. I used Seedance to animate the shadow’s transformation while keeping the candle and setting consistent.
Tools: Generative AI tools, Seedance for motion, Labbet
Deliverables: a vertical 9:16 fragrance film
