Potli- A Tea Bag Reimagined
A creative tea packaging concept reimagining the traditional Rajasthani potli as a functional tea bag.
The idea transforms a familiar Indian textile form into a new tea ritual: a miniature potli constructed from fine, translucent cotton tea-filter fabric, with hand-block-inspired floral motifs, restrained Gota Patti detailing, and traditional drawstrings adapted into the tea bag mechanism.
The concept extends beyond the tea bag itself into a matching lotus-shaped cup, carrying the same textile-inspired print to create a cohesive object and ritual.
The design explores how Indian craft can be translated into an unexpected everyday object while preserving its material character, hand-crafted irregularity, and cultural identity.
