Schiaparelli at Wimbledon: surrealism on the lawn
What happens when Schiaparelli’s surrealism walks onto the most disciplined lawn in sport.
Wimbledon is all white, green and rules. Schiaparelli answers with gold, wit and the unexpected: eyelashes on sunglasses, fingers cast as rings, a bodice sculpted like a plaster torso, eyes that weep crystals.
The series moves from the stands to the grass, with a keyhole of hammered gold, a racket veiled by watching eyes and giant felt tennis balls seamed in gold. A palette of deep green, ivory and gold holds it together, and each frame turns tennis etiquette into couture.
