An editorial journey through the lagoons of Moorea.
There are places that ask to be photographed, and there are places that ask to be experienced. MONOI belongs to the latter.
Set against the crystalline lagoons and volcanic peaks of French Polynesia, the editorial follows a woman moving quietly through the rhythms of island life—gathering tiare flowers, preparing for a journey across still waters, drifting with ocean currents, and encountering humpback whales with quiet reverence. Rather than placing humanity at the centre of the story, MONOI explores what it feels like to become part of the landscape itself.
The tiare flower serves as the project's visual thread, appearing throughout the journey as a symbol of place, ritual and memory. Floating across mirror-like lagoons, woven into traditional leis and infused into the island's iconic Monoi oil, it connects each chapter with the same quiet elegance that defines French Polynesia.
